Hayes Carll

Austin, Texas-based singer-songwriter Hayes Carll’s Lost Highway release KMAG YOYO is the #1 album of 2011 on the Americana Airplay Chart. The album-based chart prepared for the Americana Music Association represents reported play on broadcast, satellite and Internet radio stations as well as nationally syndicated shows that submit weekly spin counts.

Carll, who was among the nominees for Americana artist of the year during the association’s 2011 Honors and Awards this fall, also had his song “Another Like You” named #1 among the Top 50 Songs of the Year by American Songwriter magazine.

Rounding out the year-end Top 10 on the Americana Airplay Chart’s Top 100 Albums of the Year, based on reported spins from Nov. 16, 2010 through Nov. 14, 2011, are Lucinda Williams, Blessed (Lost Highway); Steve Earle, I’ll Never Get Out of This World Alive (New West); Alison Kraus & Union Station, Paper Airplane (Rounder); Emmylou Harris, Hard Bargain (Nonesuch); Greg Allman, Low Country Blues (Rounder); Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Here We Rest (Lightning Rod); John Hiatt, Dirty Jeans and Mudslide Hymns (New West); Decemberists, The King is Dead (Capitol); and Band of Heathens, Top Hat Crown & the Clapmaster’s Son (BOH Records).
