The Southwest Regional Folk Alliance (SWRFA) hosts a one-day mini-conference in Longmont, Colorado on Saturday, June 23, 2012. Designed to provide folks with a sampling of what takes place at the organization’s annual weekend-long conference in Austin, Texas (Sept. 27-30), the day-long event is slated for 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Longmont’s First Congregational United Church of Christ. Longmont is located in Boulder County, 37 miles north o Denver.

A learning and networking opportunity open to artists, songwriters, presenters, DJs, agents and others in the folk music community, the one-day mini-conference will feature panel discussions, peer-group sessions, six official artist showcases in the evening(for which the submission deadline is June 11) and an open mic. Lunch also is included in the $10 registration fee.

Covering the states of Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, SWRFA is a regional affiliate of Folk Alliance International, an association that seeks to foster and promote contemporary, multicultural and traditional folk music, dance and related performing arts in North America.
