One Evening in May, recorded live at the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley, California last May by bluegrass and Americana artist Laurie Lewis with friends Tom Rozum and Nina Gerber, was the most-played album on folk radio during March 2014, according to charts compiled by Richard Gillmann from radio playlists submitted to FOLKDJ-L, an electronic discussion group for DJs and others interested in all folk-based music on the radio. Closely following Lewis’ album was singer-songwriter John Gorka’s Bright Side of Down, which topped February’s chart and reportedly sported March’s most-played song, “Really Spring.”

The March 2014 FOLKDJ-L charts are based on 13,159 airplays from 140 different DJs. The number of reported spins (airplays) is shown in parentheses, while label and release dates appear in brackets. They are posted with permission on AcousticMusicScene.com.
