Winners Named in International Songwriting Competition
Singer-songwriter Joshua Hanson of Irvine, California has been named the grand prize winner in the 2012 International Songwriting Competition (ISC). The lead singer and songwriter for indie folk-rock trio Yellow Red Sparks was recognized for his song "Monsters with Misdemeanors," which was entered in the Folk/Singer-Songwriter category. A total of 68 winners were selected from among more than 20,000 entries in the songwriting competition.

Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Finalists Named
Thirty-two songwriters have been named as finalists in the 2013 Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition for Emerging Songwriters. Chosen from among more than 700 submissions from throughout the U.S. and Canada, the finalists will perform the two songs they submitted during the New Folk Concerts slated for Saturday and Sunday afternoons, May 25 and 26, as part of the Kerrville Folk Festival.

Winners Named in 2012 Unsigned Only Music Competition
The inaugural class of winners in the Unsigned Only music competition has been named. Winners were selected in nine categories – including Folk/Singer-Songwriter – from among nearly 7,500 entries worldwide.
