Mark Erelli is a New England-based singer-songwriter who has been a winner in both the Kerrville New Folk Competition and the International Songwriting Competition. He’s played venues ranging from intimate coffeehouses and house concerts to the main stage at the Newport Folk Festival. As a multi-instrumentalist sideman, he has accompanied such artists as Paula Cole, Mary Gauthier, Lori McKenna and Josh Ritter. Kathy Sands-Boehmer posed some questions to him recently. Winners Named in International Songwriting Competition

Singer-songwriter Joshua Hanson of Irvine, California has been named the grand prize winner in the 2012 International Songwriting Competition (ISC). The lead singer and songwriter for indie folk-rock trio Yellow Red Sparks was recognized for his song "Monsters with Misdemeanors," which was entered in the Folk/Singer-Songwriter category. Amber Rubarth Wins 2010 Mountain Stage NewSong Contest

Amber Rubarth, a 28-year-old, Brooklyn NY-based singer-songwriter, is the grand-prize winner in the 2010 Mountain Stage NewSong Contest. The international finals for the noted performing songwriter contest -- presented by the live performance radio show and produced by the independent music organization NewSong Music -- took place on Friday afternoon, October 22, at the World Financial Center’s Winter Garden in New York City. 2009 International Songwriting Competition Deadline Extended

The submissions deadline for the 2009 International Songwriting Competition (ISC) has been extended to December 2. Entries must be postmarked or submitted online by that date.
