Some 700 performing artists, presenters, promoters, agents and managers, folk DJs, and others actively engaged in contemporary and traditional folk music are expected to converge on the Crowne Plaza in Stamford, Connecticut, Nov. 7-10, 2019 for the 25th Annual Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) Conference. Winners Chosen in South Florida Folk Festival Singer-Songwriter Competition
John Butler (Fort Myers, FL), Robin Greenstein (New York, NY) and Martin Swinger (Augusta, ME) were named as winners of the 2015 South Florida Folk Festival Singer-Songwriter Competition.

South Florida Folk Festival Set for Jan. 17-18
Brother Sun, Gathering Time, Hardin Burns, Harpeth Rising, Passerine and David Roth headline the 2015 South Florida Folk Festival. Presented by the nonprofit Broward Folk Club, the festival takes place Saturday-Sunday, Jan. 17-18. More than 40 musicians will perform on two stages at Fort Lauderdale’s Hugh Taylor Birch State Park (3109 E. Sunrise Blvd., just west of A1A) over the weekend.

SolarFest Songwriter Showcase Finalists Named
Ten performing songwriters have been named as finalists in the annual Songwriter Showcase hosted by SolarFest, a three-day family-friendly festival set for July 18-20, 2014, at the Forget-Me-Not Farm in Tinmouth, Vermont. Now in its 20th year, SolarFest showcases the power and possibilities of solar and other renewable energy sources, as well as some talented musicians.

AcousticMusicScene.com Hosts Late-Night Music at Falcon Ridge Folk Festival
AcousticMusicScene.com will host a series of late-night song swaps, mini-showcases and open song circles during the 25th annual Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, August 1-4, in partnership with Pirate Camp, which was informally launched by Stuart Kabak and the late Jack Hardy a decade ago to provide a warm and welcoming haven for sharing music, food and camaraderie.

Rose Garden Coffeehouse Hosts 21st Annual Performing Songwriter Competition
April 15 is the entry deadline for the 21st Annual Rose Garden Coffeehouse Performing Songwriter Competition. Judges will select three finalists to perform their two submitted songs during live finals on May 18, preceding The Squeezebox Stompers’ featured performance that evening, says Mac McLanahan, artistic director for the monthly, all-volunteer, nonprofit acoustic music series. Now in its 24th year, the Rose Garden Coffeehouse takes place at The Congregational Church in Mansfield, Massachusetts.
