Nine finalists have been chosen for the 2007 Boston Folk Festival Songwriting Contest.  Finalists in the adult category include Kevin Connolly, Marie Duprey, Peg Espinola, George O’Connor and Larry Plitt.  The youth finalists are Matt Borrello, Sarah Borrello, Holly Howes and Casey Sullivan.

All nine will be performing their songs for an audience at Lipke Auditorium in the Science Building at UMass Boston on Saturday, September 15, beginning at 6 p.m.  Singer-songwriters Catie Curtis and Mark Erelli, the guest judges for the finals competition, will be there to select the winners and will also be performing themselves.  The winners will perform the next day on the Field Stage during the 10th annual Boston Folk Festival.
