Aaron Espe has been selected as Sonicbids Emerging Artist for the 2008 Four Corners Folk Festival that takes place in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, August 29-31.  Espe, a young folk-pop singer-songwriter who hails from the upland wilds of northern Minnesota, was chosen from among a field of more than 300 entrants.

A featured artist on the 2007 Volkswagon Auto Tour, who also showcased during last year’s Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis and has done two feature interviews and live performances on BBC Radio, Espe recently released his second CD, Songs From A Small Town.  He’ll perform a few of them during his set on the festival’s main stage, Aug. 29 at 3 p.m.  Also appearing on the main stage during the festival will be such artists as Earl Scruggs, Crooked Still, The Greencards and The Waifs.

“This means a lot to me,” Espe writes on his MySpace blog. “It’s nice to have people every once in a while say ‘Hey, we think what you’re doing in life is great.’  Everyone needs doses of that…”
