As part of our ongoing efforts to forge connections and build community for performers, presenters and fans of folk, roots, singer-songwriter and other acoustic music styles, we have launched an AcousticMusicScene.com Group on LinkedIn.
A professionally-oriented online social network, LinkedIn currently has more than 30-million members around the world. The new AcousticMusicScene.com Group supplements our online publication by providing you with opportunities to connect with others who share your musical interests, view rich professional profiles from AcousticMusicScene.com Group members, and exchange ideas and information via a discussion forum on LinkedIn.
If you are not already a LinkedIn participant, you may obtain information about it and the advantages of joining at http://learn.linkedin.com/what-is-linkedin/. If you are already a member, joining the AcousticMusicScene.com Group is relatively simple. Just log-on to LinkedIn. Near the right-hand corner on the top of the screen, you will see the word "Advanced." In the box next to it, scroll down to Search Groups, then key in AcousticMusicScene.com in the box adjacent to it. After you click the Search button, a short description of the group will appear. Click on "Join This Group," and you’re in (pending approval). No hassles, no cost, but, we hope, a lot of value.
AcousticMusicScene.com also has established a presence on MySpace and plans to add new features to both that and our online publication in 2009, as we continually strive to be an even more valuable resource for the folk, roots and singer-songwriter communities. Your ideas and feedback are most welcome.
