Celtic Cultural Alliance (CCA), the folks behind the annual Celtic Classic that draws throngs of people to historic Bethlehem, Pennsylvania each fall, have partnered with Bethlehem BrewWorks to present a new monthly Celtic Music Nights series.

Barleyjuice, a six-member band, whose song “What’s Up Yours?” is emblazoned on t-shirts worn by many during the Celtic Classic, helped kick-off the series on Dec. 1.  Slated for the first Monday of the monthexcept next month, when it will be held on Jan. 12 — Celtic Music Nights are designed to showcase new artists in the Lehigh Valley and beyond, while supporting the mission of the CCA to preserve and promote the Celtic culture.

Bethlehem BrewWorks, located at 569 Main Street, opens its doors for Celtic Music Nights at 7 p.m., and the music runs until 10 p.m. Although there is no cover charge, donations to the CCA will be gratefully accepted.

Established more than 20 years ago, the CCA is best known for staging the popular Celtic Classic in late September. A free event celebrating Irish, Scottish and Welsh cultures and heritage, the Classic annually attracts more than 250,000 people to Bethlehem, who come to enjoy a continuous array of musical and dance performances on six stages, an invitational pipe band competition, seisuns, Celtic artisans, and North America’s largest highland games.  The nonprofit organization also hosts a Winter Classic and provides scholarships for students in varied areas of the arts, educational programs in the local schools, and classes for adults in Celtic calligraphy and Irish singing, among other topics.
