Dailey & Vincent, the 2008 Entertainers of the Year in the International Bluegrass Music Awards, will appear on Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 5 p.m. CST. They are musical guests for a live broadcast performance that emanates from the show’s home base, the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, Minnesota. Several million people tune in to the popular radio variety show each week when it airs on nearly 600 public radio stations across the U.S., as well as on America One abroad and the Armed Forces Networks in Europe and the Far East.

“When we sat down to talk about our goals for the first couple of years of our career, we put A Prairie Home Companion on that list,” says Jamie Dailey. “It was a lofty goal, but I’ve done the show with Doyle Lawson, Darrin [Vincent]’s been there with Ricky Skaggs, and we both had a wonderful time. For us to be invited as Dailey & Vincent is quite an honor, and we’re very excited.”

Dailey & Vincent released their eponymous debut CD last January and will release their second Rounder album, Brothers from Different Mothers, on March 31. They captured the most awards during the 19th Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards Show at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee last October. In addition to being named Entertainers of the Year, Dailey & Vincent took home Vocal Group of the Year and Emerging Artist of the Year honors, while their self-titled debut release was named Album of the Year and “By the Mark” was named Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year. In addition, Dailey was named Male Vocalist of the Year, while Vincent was among the featured artists on the Recorded Event of the Year – Everett Lilly & Everybody and Their Brother (Swift River Music). Although new on the scene as a duo, Dailey & Vincent are not newcomers to bluegrass music — having apprenticed for years under Lawson and Skaggs, respectively.
