Joe Iadanza & His Beautiful Band and David Jacobs-Strain share a bill as part of the Folk Music Society of Huntington’s First Saturdays Series. Iadanza, who also has secured a couple of coveted showcase slots during this month’s Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) Conference, is a storyteller and a sophisticated folkie with a strikingly unusual tenor voice, a foot-stomping Euro-jazz-schooled band, and a growing repertoire of smart, witty, warm, and stick-in-your-ear hummable songs that span the genres of folk, rock, roots and Americana – at times harkening back to a bygone era with its European jazz feel. A consummate fingerstyle and slide guitarist/singer, David Jacobs-Strain is a gifted young bluesman and modern roots musician who is steeped in the country blues tradition but isn’t from it.
