AcousticMusicScene.com will have a major presence at the Fifth Annual Huntington Folk Festival that takes place on Saturday, August 7, in Huntington, New York. Singer-songwriters Susan Werner and Vance Gilbert co-headline the free event that extends from 1 p.m. into the late evening at Heckscher Park, Main Street (Route 25A) and Prime Avenue.

Co-presented by the Folk Music Society of Huntington and the Huntington Arts Council, the Huntington Folk Festival is part of the 45th Annual Huntington Summer Arts Festival presented by the Town of Huntington, produced by the Arts Council, and sponsored in part by the New York State Council for the Arts and the Suffolk County Office of Cultural Affairs.

“We’re delighted to join with the Huntington Arts Council in presenting what promises to be a wonderful afternoon and evening of music,” says AcousticMusicScene.com’s Michael Kornfeld, president of the Folk Music Society of Huntington. “Both Susan Werner and Vance Gilbert are consummate entertainers whose music and wit have made them favorites on the festival circuit, while some very talented independent recording artists from New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and the United Kingdom will perform during the day.”

Prior to the 8:30 p.m. concert by Werner and Gilbert on the Chapin Rainbow Stage, unplugged showcases and song swaps will take place from 1-6:30 p.m. under or near canopy tents hosted by AcousticMusicScene.com and Richard Cuccaro’s monthly listings guide Acoustic Live! in NYC & Beyond. The Green Palate Open Mic also will have a presence — with both featured artists and others who sign-up to perform at the park.
