Pharis and Jason Romero’s A Wanderer I’ll Stay was the most-played album on folk radio during April 2015, while its title track was the most-played song for the second consecutive month. So say charts compiled by Richard Gillmann from radio playlists submitted to FOLKDJ-L, an electronic discussion group for DJs and others interested in all folk-based music on the radio.
A Wanderer I’ll Stay is the third duo recording by Pharis and Jason, who met at an old-time fiddle jam in 2007. They live in central British Columbia, where Jason builds custom banjos and they play music new and old. Recipients of the 2012 Canadian Folk Music Award for New/Emerging Artist of the Year, Pharis and Jason Romero have toured throughout North America and the UK, and have been frequent guests on A Prairie Home Companion.
The April 2015 FOLKDJ-L charts are based on 12,996 airplays from 144 different DJs. The number of reported spins (airplays) is shown in parentheses, while label and release dates appear in brackets. They are posted on AcousticMusicScene.com, with permission.
