Folk DJ Radio Airplay Charts – August 2019

Southern Indiana-based singer-songwriter Tim Grimm had the top album (Heart Land Again) on folk radio for a second consecutive month during August 2019 and also topped the monthly top artists chart, while New York-City-based quartet Bobtown had the month's most-played song ("Daughters of the Dust"). Monica Rizzio Wins 2019 Grassy Hill Songwriting Competition at CT Folk Fest

Singer-Songwriter Monica Rizzio was named the winner of the 2019 Grassy Hill Songwriting Competition following a final round featuring four artists during the 14th annual CT Folk Fest & Green Expo in New Haven, Connecticut on Sept. 7. As the songwriting competition winner, she receives a cash prize and will have a performance slot in next year’s festival produced by the nonprofit organization CT Folk. 2019 Americana Honors & Awards Show to be Streamed Live from Nashville on September 11

The 2019 Americana Honors & Awards will be presented on Wednesday, September 11 at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. Hosted by The Milk Carton Kids and featuring an all-star band led by Buddy Miller, the awards ceremony is the highlight of the 20th annual AmericanaFest –- a six-day festival and conference celebrating American roots-inspired music that is put on by the Americana Music Association.
