Anna Tivel is 2016 Telluride Troubadour
Anna Tivel, a Portland, Oregon-based singer songwriter, won the 2016 Telluride Troubadour Competition and had the opportunity to perform a short set on the main stage during the 43rd Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival, a roots-oriented music festival set amid Colorado’s rugged San Juan Mountains, June 16-19.

2016 Kerrville New Folk Winners Named
Six singer-songwriters were named as winners in the 2016 Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition for Emerging Songwriters. They were selected by a panel of judges from among 32 finalists who performed two songs each during the New Folk Concerts on May 28 and 29 as part of the Kerrville Folk Festival, an 18-day event at the Quiet Valley Ranch in the Texas Hill Country. The six will perform during a New Folk Winners concert at the festival on Sunday afternoon, June 5, and will receive cash honorariums and other prizes.

2016 Kerrville New Folk Competition Entries Due by Feb. 29
Entries are now being sought for the 2016 Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition for Emerging Songwriters to be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 28 and 29, 2016, during the 45th Annual Kerrville Folk Festival in the Texas hill country. The first 800 entries received via the mail or online by February 29 will be accepted, and 32 finalists will be named in mid-April.
