A Quick Q & A with Terri Hendrix
Some folks may be quick to label Terri Hendrix' music as acoustic Americana. And although the San Marcos, Texas-based singer-songwriter calls The Spiritual Kind, her ninth independent release, a folk record, Hendrix -- no relation to 'that Hendrix,' although her dad's name is Jim -- professes to like all styles of music, and her own musical stylings cannot be easily pigeonholed.

A lot of good music is in store for folk and roots music fans in central Ohio, northern Florida and southern Arizona during the first weekend of May. That’s when the Central Ohio Folk Festival takes place in Columbus, the Gamble Rogers Folk Festival comes to St. Augustine, and the Tucson Folk Festival returns to, you guessed it, Tucson.

Q & A with Matt and Shannon Heaton
Guitarist-singer Matt Heaton and Irish flute player-singer Shannon Heaton have been playing music together since 1992, although the two did not begin to focus their creative energies on their duo until 2003. Since then, they have released four albums. Their latest is a collection of traditional love songs and tunes entitled Lovers Well.

A 2007 Kerrville New Folk winner, the young Austin, Texas-based singer-songwriter is a native of Portland, Oregon. Raina Rose is currently touring the East Coast with Rebecca Loebe, another talented young singer-songwriter.
