Austin, Texas-based singer-songwriter Hayes Carll’s Lost Highway release KMAG YOYO is the #1 album of 2011 on the Americana Airplay Chart. The album-based chart prepared for the Americana Music Association represents reported play on broadcast, satellite and Internet radio stations as well as nationally syndicated shows that submit weekly spin counts.

Pieta Brown's Mercury continues to top the Roots Music Report folk radio chart this week,followed by albums by Red Molly, Abigail Washburn, Madison Violet and June Tabor. Robert Earl Keen's Ready for Confetti retains the #1 spot on the roots country chart for the seventh consecutive week and is followed by albums by Joe Ely, Gillian Welch, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, and Greg Brown (Pieta's father).

Bruce Cockburn, Dave Gunning and Quebecois Trio Genticorum Among Top Canadian Folk Music Award Winners for 2011
The 2011 Canadian Folk Music Awards were presented in Toronto, Ontario on Sunday evening, Dec. 4. Winners were named in 19 categories and a new Unsung Hero award was presented during a gala event at the Isabel Bader Theatre. Bruce Cockburn, Dave Gunning and Quebecois trio Genticorum each won two awards.

Showcase Application Deadline Nears for SS Cape May Conference
More than 150 acts, from solo artists to full bands, will be selected to showcase at various venues over two nights during the fifth annual Singer Songwriter Cape May music business conference set for March 30-31, 2012 in the historic Victorian-lined New Jersey seaside resort community. The deadline for singer-songwriters in all genres to submit showcase applications is Dec. 16.
