Americana Music Festival & Conference Set for Oct. 12-15
The Americana Music Association’s 12th annual Americana Music Festival and Conference, Oct. 12-15, is expected to draw some 1,000 artists, label executives, managers, agents, music publishers, music retailers, producers, promoters, music journalists and other industry professionals to Nashville this week for several days of learning, networking and musical entertainment.. Those numbers may swell to more than 15,000 as fans come out to experience the Festival’s musical events – including nighttime musical showcases and the professional trade association’s 10th Annual Honors & Awards show.

Upcoming Americana Music Festival and Conference in Nashville Features Keynote Interview with Rosanne Cash
Rosanne Cash will be the 2009 keynote interview subject during the Americana Music Association’s Festival and Conference on Thursday morning, September 17, at the Nashville Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Author and journalist Michael Streissguth, whose latest book, Always Been There: Rosanne Cash, The List and the Spirit of Southern Music, chronicles the making of her forthcoming album, will pose questions to the Grammy Award-winning artist, who has had more than 20 top 40 country singles over the course of her 30-year career to date.

Registration Opens for Americana Music Association and IBMA ‘World of Bluegrass’ Conferences in Nashville This Fall
Two major music industry business conferences of note to the acoustic music community are slated for the fall in Nashville, Tennessee. The Americana Music Association’s 10th Annual Americana Music Festival & Conference returns to the “Music City,” September 16-19, while the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA)’s World of Bluegrass is set for September 28-October 4. Early-bird registration opened this month for both events.
