Top Albums and Songs of June 2013 (FOLKDJ-L)
Ring Them Bells, the debut release by The Copper Ponies (Annie Donahue and Erik Balkey), was the most-played album on folk radio during June 2013 and also features three of the four most-played songs, according to charts compiled by Richard Gillmann from radio playlists submitted to FOLKDJ-L, an electronic discussion group for DJs and others interested in all folk-based music on the radio. Closely following The Copper Ponies' debut were new albums by the Celtic band Burning Bridget Cleary and singer-songwriter Buddy Mondlock.

Formal Showcase Artists Chosen for 2013 NERFA Conference
Fourteen artists/acts have been selected from among 200 applicants to perform in the juried Formal Showcase during the 19th Annual Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) Conference at the Hudson Valley Resort in Kerhonkson, New York, Nov. 7-10, 2013.

Richard Meyer, Singer-Songwriter and Fast Folk Editor, 1952-2012
Richard Meyer, a singer-songwriter who also was an integral part of the folk music scene in New York’s Greenwich Village during the 1980s and 1990s as a booker for the Speakeasy and longtime editor of Fast Folk Musical Magazine (1986-1997), died May 14, 2012 at age 59.
