Philadelphia Folk Festival Set for Aug. 18-21
Thousands of music lovers are expected to converge on Old Pool Farm in Upper Salford Township, near bucolic Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, Aug. 18-21, for the annual Philadelphia Folk Festival. Now in its 55th year, the event, produced and presented by the Philadelphia Folksong Society, is the longest continuously running musical festival of its kind in North America.

Boulder, Colorado-based singer-songwriter Rebecca Folsom’s “Better Times” was February’s most-played song. Roots Music Report Folk and Roots Country Radio Charts, 08-30-13
Burning Bridget Cleary, a high-energy Celtic band from Pennsylvania, tops this week's Roots Music Report folk radio airplay chart with its latest release, Pressed for Time. Maine-raised and Texas-based singer-songwriter Slaid Cleaves' Still Fighting the War returns to the #1 position on the Americana-roots country chart.

Top Albums and Songs of June 2013 (FOLKDJ-L)
Ring Them Bells, the debut release by The Copper Ponies (Annie Donahue and Erik Balkey), was the most-played album on folk radio during June 2013 and also features three of the four most-played songs, according to charts compiled by Richard Gillmann from radio playlists submitted to FOLKDJ-L, an electronic discussion group for DJs and others interested in all folk-based music on the radio. Closely following The Copper Ponies' debut were new albums by the Celtic band Burning Bridget Cleary and singer-songwriter Buddy Mondlock.

NERFA Hosts Two One-Day Mini-Conferences
The Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) is partnering with the Rhode Island Songwriters Association (RISA) and Focus Music -- which presents and supports folk and acoustic music in the Washington, D.C. area -- to present one-day mini-conferences on June 1 and 9, respectively, in Kingston, Rhode Island and Rockville, Maryland.

AcousticMusicScene.com Hosts Late-Night Song Swaps at Falcon Ridge Folk Festival
AcousticMusicScene.com will host a series of late-night song swaps and mini-showcases during the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, July 26-29, in partnership with Pirate Camp, which was informally launched by Stuart Kabak and the late Jack Hardy a decade ago to provide a warm and welcoming haven for sharing music, food and camaraderie..
Now in its 24th year, Falcon Ridge takes place at Dodds Farm on Route 7D in Hillsdale, NY -- located in the foothills of the Berkshires, near the tri-state corner of New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts.

2012 Falcon Ridge Emerging Artists Showcase Lineup Set; 24 Acts to Perform on July 27
Twenty-four artists/bands have been selected from among hundreds of applicants to perform in the Emerging Artists Showcase during the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in Hillsdale, New York on Friday afternoon, July 27, 2012, from noon to 4:30 p.m.
