More than 800 performing artists, presenters, promoters, agents and managers, folk DJs and others actively engaged in contemporary and traditional folk music will converge on the Hudson Valley Resort in Kerhonkson, New York, Nov. 13-16, 2014, for the 20th Annual Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) Conference. The ninth annual Huntington Folk Festival is slated for Saturday, July 19, 2014, The free event, extending from 12 noon into late in the evening, at Huntington, New York's Heckscher Park, will feature an afternoon of unplugged showcases and song swaps, a hootenanny-style tribute to Pete Seeger, and an evening concert by Bobtown.

Hundreds of folk & bluegrass music lovers are expected to gather at the New City Volunteer Ambulance Corps (200 Congers Road, New City, New York) on Sunday afternoon, August 25 for the fourth annual picnic, singing party, and jam hosted by the Borderline Folk Music Club of Rockland County and co-sponsored by AcousticMusicScene.com. The free event is set for 12-6 p.m. in the outdoor grassy area adjacent to the parking lot.
