Folk Music Fills the Streets of New Bedford, July 6-7, 2013
The New Bedford Folk Festival, formerly known as the Greater New Bedford Summerfest, is one of the Northeast’s most pleasant, refined and enjoyable music festivals. Slated for July 6-7, 2013 in New Bedford, Massachusetts, the festival takes over the cobble stoned streets of this historic New England port city –which is part of the New Bedford Whaling National Historic Park.

Nominees Named for 2011 Canadian Folk Music Awards
With four nominations each, Bruce Cockburn and Dave Gunning are the top nominees vying for awards during the seventh annual Canadian Folk Music Awards slated to be presented during a gala event in Toronto, Dec. 4. The awards were established to bring greater exposure to the breadth and depth of Canadian folk music, celebrating and promoting it in all its forms. Outstanding achievements will be recognized in 19 categories, while a new “Unsung Hero” award also will be bestowed.
