FARM Hosts One-Day Conference in Ohio on April 28
Following in the footsteps of the Southwest Regional Folk Alliance (SWRFA) and Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA), Folk Alliance Region Midwest (FARM) will host its first one-day conference on April 28, 2012 at the historic opera house in Fayette, Ohio, located on US 20 about 30 minutes west of Toledo. A condensed version of its annual four-day conference, this one-day event is being called FARMette.

The 24th Annual International Folk Alliance Conference is slated for February 22-26, 2012 at the Downtown Marriott in Memphis, Tennessee. Financial savings are in the offing through early-bird registration that is open through Dec. 2, while forms also are available on the Folk Alliance International website (www.folk.org) until then for performing artists to apply for Performance Alley official showcase opportunities.

Hundreds of performers, presenters, booking agents, radio programmers and others engaged in performing and promoting folk and acoustic music in the Western United States will gather in Eugene, Oregon, Oct.20-23, for the eighth annual Folk Alliance Region-West (FAR-West) Conference. The event will feature lots of acoustic music, networking, music business education, an exhibit hall … and very little sleep.

The following artists have been selected (from among more than 100 applicants) to perform official showcases during the 2011 Folk Alliance Region Midwest (FARM) Gathering, slated for Sept. 22-25 at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites of Bolingbrook, Illinois, located less than an hour from Chicago: John Batdorf, Jen Cass, RJ Cowdery, Harpeth Rising, Bill & Kate Isles, Lake Folk, Sarah McQuaid, Carol Montag, Louise Mosrie, Zoe Mulford, Sally Spring, Spuyten Duyvil, Dennis Stroughmatt et L’Esprit Creole and Twangtown Paramours.

Showcase Application Deadlines Loom for 2011 NERFA Conference
August 8 is the application deadline for artists seeking one of 14 coveted 15-minute juried formal showcase slots during the 17th Annual Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) Conference. Southeast Regional Folk Alliance Conference Set for May 19-22
Nearly 200 people are expected to be at the Montreat Conference Center in Montreat, North Carolina, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, near Asheville, May 19-22, for the fourth annual Southeast Regional Folk Alliance (SERFA) Conference -- an extended weekend of contemporary and traditional folk music, networking, education and workshops.
