Ghost Tattoo by Americana quartet Kristen Grainger and True North was the top album on folk radio during August 2020, while “Keep the River on Your Right,” one of its tracks, tied with Canadian prairie roots balladeer Scott Cook’s “Say Can You See" for the month’s top song. John McCutcheon, a revered folksinger-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, was August’s most-played artist -- closely followed by Cook and Granger. Global Music Match Launches August 31
Fourteen music export organizations from around the world have partnered to launch a new pilot initiative designed to continue raising the profile of local artists in international music markets during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Known as Global Music Match, the innovative six-week program extends from August 31-October 11, 2020. 96 acoustic, folk, roots, traditional, and world music artists from 14 countries are taking part in what could be the largest online matchmaking of musicians ever undertaken.

Treat A Stranger Right by Frank & Allie Lee was the top album on folk radio for a second consecutive month, along with The Family Songbook by The Haden Triplets, during February 2020. They also tied as the month’s second most-played artists, while The Kingston Trio took the top spot. February’s most-played song was “You Can’t Say @#$ on the Air,” a track on Matt Watroba’s #2 charting album The Far Si: The Si Kahn Funny Song Sing-Along Songbook. Registration Opens for NERFA Conference
Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) has opened registration for its 26th annual conference to be held in Stamford, Connecticut, November 12-15, 2020. Artists may also now apply online for juried official showcases.

Falcon Ridge ‘Most Wanted’ Artists Named
Scott Cook, Zoe Mulford and South for Winter have been invited to participate in the Most Wanted Song Swap at this summer’s Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. They were chosen in balloting by 2019 festival attendees from among 24 artists/bands who performed in last year’s Falcon Ridge/Grassy Hill Emerging Artist Showcase.
