Old Settler’s Music Festival Set for April 14-17 in the Texas Hill Country
The Texas Hill Country comes alive with the sounds of Americana, bluegrass and roots music of all varieties, Thursday-Sunday, April 14-17. That’s when the Old Settler’s Music Festival returns to the Salt Lick BBQ Pavilion and Camp Ben McCulloch in Driftwood, Texas, just south of Austin. Now in its 29th year, the festival takes place during what’s usually the height of bluebonnet and wildflower season.

Philadelphia Folk Festival Set For Aug. 13-16
Arlo Guthrie celebrates the 50th anniversary of the event that inspired the seminal song “Alice’s Restaurant Massacree,” while influential folksinger-songwriter Tom Paxton, who plans to retire from the road later this year after more than a half-century as a performing and recording artist, are among the dozens of artists and acts slated to perform during the 2015 Philadelphia Folk Festival. Scheduled for August 13 -16 at the Old Pool Farm in Upper Salford Township, near bucolic Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, the festival is produced and presented by the Philadelphia Folksong Society. Now in its 54th year, it is the longest continuously running musical festival of its kind in North America.

South Florida Folk Festival Set for Jan. 17-18
Brother Sun, Gathering Time, Hardin Burns, Harpeth Rising, Passerine and David Roth headline the 2015 South Florida Folk Festival. Presented by the nonprofit Broward Folk Club, the festival takes place Saturday-Sunday, Jan. 17-18. More than 40 musicians will perform on two stages at Fort Lauderdale’s Hugh Taylor Birch State Park (3109 E. Sunrise Blvd., just west of A1A) over the weekend.
