Nominees Named for 2018 Canadian Folk Music Awards
The LYNNeS and Buffy Sainte-Marie top the list of nominees for the 2018 Canadian Folk Music Awards with five nods each. The duo of Lynn Miles & Lynne Hanson and the much-celebrated folksinger-songwriter are among the many artists and groups from throughout Canada vying for awards in 19 categories to be presented at The Gateway in Calgary, Alberta, Nov. 30 – Dec. 1.

Club Passim’s Campfire. Festival Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary Over Labor Day Weekend
Dozens of emerging artists from New England and beyond will showcase their talents over the Labor Day Weekend during the annual Campfire. Festival at Club Passim, the legendary Harvard Square listening room in Cambridge, MA. Now marking its 20th year, the event also will be live streamed via Concert Window beginning Friday, Aug. 31, at 6 p.m. and extending through Monday, Sept. 3, at 10:30p.m.

Nominees Named for 2013 Canadian Folk Music Awards
With four nominations each, Ontario’s 15-piece Lemon Bucket Orkestra, fiddler Jaron Freeman-Fox & The Opposite of Everything, and multiple Juno award-winning singer-songwriter David Francey are the top nominees vying for 2013 Canadian Folk Music Awards that are slated to be presented during a gala event at the University of Calgary Theatre in Calgary, Alberta, Nov. 10.

2012 Canadian Folk Music Awards Presented
The 2012 Canadian Folk Music Awards were presented in Saint John, New Brunswick on Saturday evening, Nov. 17, and streamed online on Roots Music Canada’s website. Winners were named in 17 categories, while recipients also were honored with special Innovator of the Year and Unsung Hero awards during a gala event at the Imperial Theatre that was hosted by the always- entertaining, genial and witty Benoit Bourque of La Bottine Souriante.

With four nominations each, Bruce Cockburn and Dave Gunning are the top nominees vying for awards during the seventh annual Canadian Folk Music Awards slated to be presented during a gala event in Toronto, Dec. 4. The awards were established to bring greater exposure to the breadth and depth of Canadian folk music, celebrating and promoting it in all its forms. Outstanding achievements will be recognized in 19 categories, while a new “Unsung Hero” award also will be bestowed.
