Nearly 300 people will converge on Chattanooga, Tennessee, May 15-19, 2019 for the 12th annual Southeast Regional Folk Alliance (SERFA) Conference. An extended weekend of contemporary and traditional folk music, networking and learning opportunities, the conference will be keynoted by singer-songwriter Ellis Paul and features 27 juried official showcases.

Finalists Announced in 2018 Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition
Thirty-two songwriters have been named as finalists in the 2018 Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition for Emerging Songwriters. Chosen from among more than 600 submissions from around the world, the finalists will perform their two submitted songs during the New Folk Concerts on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, May 26 and 27, as part of the Kerrville Folk Festival in he Texas Hill Country.

Thirty-two songwriters have been named as finalists in the 2016 Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition for Emerging Songwriters. Chosen from among more than 600 submissions from around the world, the finalists will perform the two songs they submitted during the New Folk Concerts slated for Saturday and Sunday afternoons, May 28 and 29, as part of the Kerrville Folk Festival.

Top Albums and Songs of May 2012 (FOLKDJ-L)
AcousticMusicScene.com is pleased to publish the monthly Top Albums and Songs charts compiled by Richard Gillmann from radio playlists submitted to FOLKDJ-L, an electronic discussion group for DJs and others interested in all folk-based music on the radio. Topping the albums chart for May 2012 was Bill Evans' In Good Company, on which 26 musicians join the noted banjo player, while self-proclaimed Floridian "leftneck" style folk and Americana singer-songwriter Grant Peeples' "Things Have Changed" was reportedly the most-played song on folk radio during the month.

Southeast Regional Folk Alliance Conference Set for May 19-22
Nearly 200 people are expected to be at the Montreat Conference Center in Montreat, North Carolina, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, near Asheville, May 19-22, for the fourth annual Southeast Regional Folk Alliance (SERFA) Conference -- an extended weekend of contemporary and traditional folk music, networking, education and workshops.
