Mary Bragg Wins 2018 Songwriter Serenade Competition
Nashville-based Americana singer-songwriter Mary Bragg has been named the first-place winner of the 2018 Songwriter Serenade Competition after showcasing two of her original songs, along with 14 other semifinalists, at Moravia Performance Hall in Moravia, Texas, during the day on Saturday, May 5.

Finalists Announced in 2018 Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition
Thirty-two songwriters have been named as finalists in the 2018 Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition for Emerging Songwriters. Chosen from among more than 600 submissions from around the world, the finalists will perform their two submitted songs during the New Folk Concerts on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, May 26 and 27, as part of the Kerrville Folk Festival in he Texas Hill Country.

Thirty-two songwriters have been named as finalists in the 2017 Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition for Emerging Songwriters. Chosen from among more than 600 submissions from around the world, the finalists will perform the two songs they submitted at the New Folk Concerts slated for Saturday and Sunday afternoons, May 27 and 28, as part of the Kerrville Folk Festival.

Finalists Named in 2014 Wildflower! Performing Songwriter Contest
Performing songwriters from the states of Maine and Texas dominate the list of ten finalists named this week in the 2014 Wildflower! Performing Songwriter Contest. Each will perform two songs on the Singer Songwriter Stage during the 22nd annual Wildflower! Arts and Music Festival at Galatyn Park in Richardson, Texas, just a few minutes north of Dallas. Billed as North Texas’ largest music festival, it takes place, May 16-18.

NERFA Hosts Two One-Day Mini-Conferences
The Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) is partnering with the Rhode Island Songwriters Association (RISA) and Focus Music -- which presents and supports folk and acoustic music in the Washington, D.C. area -- to present one-day mini-conferences on June 1 and 9, respectively, in Kingston, Rhode Island and Rockville, Maryland.

NERFA Conference Set for Nov. 8-11, 2012 in Kerhonkson, NY

FARM Gathering This Week in St. Louis
John Gorka will keynote the annual FARM Gathering that’s set for Oct. 11-14, 2012 at the Sheraton Westport Chalet in St. Louis, Missouri. The popular singer-songwriter and Red House recording artist also will conduct a songwriting master class during the three-day event hosted by Folk Alliance Region Midwest, an affiliate of Folk Alliance International.
