FAI Folk Radio Charts – November 2020
Singer-Songwriter Gillian Welch was the most-played artist and had the top album (Boots No. 2: The Lost Songs, Vol. 1) on folk radio in November 2020, while singer-songwriter Tim Grimm’s “ Gone” was the most-played song for a second consecutive month. So say charts compiled by Folk Alliance International based on radio playlists submitted to FOLKDJ-L, an electronic discussion group for DJs and others interested in folk-based music on the radio.

Ralph Stanley Inducted Into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences
Ralph Stanley, a leading exponent of traditional Appalachian music and a founding father of bluegrass, was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences In Cambridge, Massachusetts on Oct. 11. Founded in 1780 to recognize America’s foremost “thinkers and doers,” the Academy counts more than 250 Nobel laureates and 60 Pulitzer Prize-winners among its members.
