Southwest Regional Folk Alliance (SWRFA) hosts a 2020 Virtual Conference online from Friday, September 25 - Sunday, September 27. It will feature a dozen official showcases, several workshops, breakout sessions and one-on-ones, open mics, and song assignments.

2017 Songwriter Serenade Opens for Entries
Applications are being accepted through March 26 in the 2017 Songwriter Serenade Competition. From among all entries received, 15 songwriters will be invited to showcase their original songs and compete for prize money at Moravia Performance Hall in Moravia, Texas, on Saturday, May 6.

2017 Kerrville New Folk Competition Opens for Entries
Entries are now being sought in the 2017 Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition for Emerging Songwriters to be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 27 and 28, 2017, during the first weekend of the 46th Annual Kerrville Folk Festival in the Texas Hill Country. The first 800 entries received by February 28 will be accepted, and 32 finalists will be named in April.

2016 Kerrville New Folk Winners Named
Six singer-songwriters were named as winners in the 2016 Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition for Emerging Songwriters. They were selected by a panel of judges from among 32 finalists who performed two songs each during the New Folk Concerts on May 28 and 29 as part of the Kerrville Folk Festival, an 18-day event at the Quiet Valley Ranch in the Texas Hill Country. The six will perform during a New Folk Winners concert at the festival on Sunday afternoon, June 5, and will receive cash honorariums and other prizes.

Finalists Named in 2016 Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition
Thirty-two songwriters have been named as finalists in the 2016 Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition for Emerging Songwriters. Chosen from among more than 600 submissions from around the world, the finalists will perform the two songs they submitted during the New Folk Concerts slated for Saturday and Sunday afternoons, May 28 and 29, as part of the Kerrville Folk Festival.
