Mid-January is Music Festival Time in Florida
Floridians and visitors to the Sunshine State can escape the winter doldrums and enjoy some fine music in mid-January. The South Florida Folk Festival and the 30A Songwriters Festival take place over the same weekend in different parts of the state. The former includes the finals of an annual singer-songwriter competition, while the latter features such big-name talents as Steve Earle and Emmylou Harris.

Reed Turner is 2013 Telluride Troubadour Winner
Austin, Texas-based folk-rock singer-songwriter Reed Turner was selected as the winner of the 2013 Telluride Troubadour Competition and had the opportunity to perform a short set on the main stage during the 40th Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival that took place in Colorado, June 20-23.

January 2011 is Music Festival Time in Florida

Reed Waddle Wins New York Songwriters Circle Contest
Reed Waddle, a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based singer-songwriter and guitarist, is the grand prize winner in the fourth annual songwriting contest sponsored by The New York Songwriters Circle. A panel of 10 music industry judges selected him as the recipient of $25,000 in cash and prizes following live performances by 12 finalists, Nov. 18-19, at The Bitter End in New York City.

2009 Mountain Stage NewSong Contest Winners Named
Liz Longley, Grace Pettis, BettySoo, David Via and Reed Waddle were named as winners of the 2009 Mountain Stage NewSong Contest, presented by Folk Alliance International. The contest’s international finals took place on Saturday, October 10, at the Cultural Center in Charleston, West Virginia -- home to the internationally broadcast “Mountain Stage” radio and TV show that has showcased more than 2000 artists since its inception in 1983.
