The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) has revealed the nominees for the 55th Annual JUNO Awards – including those for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year and Traditional Roots Album of the Year. The coveted awards will be presented on stage in Hamilton, Ontario at The JUNO Awards Gala Presented by Music Canada on Saturday, March 28, 2026, and The JUNO Awards Broadcast at TD Coliseum on Sunday, March 29, 2026, live nationwide on CBC and CBC Gem. Nominees in 84 categories have been named for the 60th Annual Grammy Awards to be presented by The Recording Academy on Sunday, January 28, 2018. Artist and Album of the Year honors went to the late Leonard Cohen, while William Prince took home Contemporary Roots Album of the Year and The East Pointers won Traditional Roots Album of the Year during the 2017 JUNO Awards ceremonies that took place April 1 and 2 at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario -- Canada’s capital city. The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) has revealed the nominees in 41 categories – including Contemporary Roots Album of the Year and Traditional Roots Album of the Year – for the 2017 JUNO Awards. In addition, singer-songwriter and social activist Buffy Sainte-Marie will receive the Alan Waters Humanitarian Award, while multi-platinum, award-winning singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
