Finalists Announced in 2018 Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition
Thirty-two songwriters have been named as finalists in the 2018 Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition for Emerging Songwriters. Chosen from among more than 600 submissions from around the world, the finalists will perform their two submitted songs during the New Folk Concerts on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, May 26 and 27, as part of the Kerrville Folk Festival in he Texas Hill Country.

Top Albums, Songs – August 2017 (FOLKDJ-L)
The Early Mays had the most-played album (Chase The Sun) and were the most-played artists on folk radio during August 2017, while Susan Cattaneo (“Work Hard, Love Harder"), Dave Rawlings (“Midnight Train”) and The Jerry Douglas Band (“Hey Joe”) had the top songs. So say charts compiled by Richard Gillmann from radio playlists submitted to FOLKDJ-L, an electronic discussion group for DJs and others interested in all folk-based music on the radio.

Winners Named in 2017 Songwriter Serenade
Andrew Delaney has been named the first-place winner in the 2017 Songwriter Serenade competition. He was among 15 songwriters who were invited to showcase several of their original songs and compete for $7,000 in prize money at Moravia Performance Hall in Moravia, Texas, on Saturday, May 6.

Entries Sought in Mid-Atlantic Song Contest
Entries are now being accepted in the 33rd annual Mid-Atlantic Song Contest (MASC) produced by the Songwriters’ Association of Washington. The submission deadline is Sept. 15, 2016.

More than 800 performing artists, presenters, promoters, agents and managers, folk DJs and others actively engaged in traditional and contemporary folk music will converge on the Hudson Valley Resort in Kerhonkson, NY, Nov. 7-10, 2013, for the 19th Annual Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) Conference.
