FAI Folk Radio Charts – August 2023
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Raye Zaragoza’s Hold That Spirit was the most-played album on folk radio during August 2023, while seminal Canadian-American roots rockers The Band topped the month’s artists chart and had its most-played song (“The Weight"). So say charts compiled by Folk Alliance International based on radio playlists submitted to FOLKDJ-L, an electronic discussion group for DJs and others interested in folk-based music on the radio.

Grammy Awards Nominees Named
Nominees in 83 categories have been named for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards to be presented by The Recording Academy on Monday, February 15, 2016. Of particular interest to readers of AcousticMusicScene.com are the nominees for awards in the American Roots Music Field that will be presented prior to the live broadcast airing on CBS television stations that evening from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Neil Young, Old Man Luedecke, Le Vent du Nord Win JUNO Awards
The 40th annual JUNO Awards were presented by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS), March 26 and 27 in Toronto. Internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Neil Young was the big winner, while Nova Scotia-based Old Man Luedecke and Quebec-based group Le Vent du Nord captured awards for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year Solo and Group, respectively.
