AcousticMusicScene.com is pleased to publish the monthly Top Albums and Songs charts compiled by Richard Gillmann of KBCS-FM in Bellevue/Seattle, Washington, from radio playlists submitted to FOLKDJ-L, an electronic discussion group for DJs and others interested in all folk-based music on the radio. In November 2011, John McCutcheon's This Land: Woody Guthrie's America topped the albums chart and also sported three of the top five songs.

Dec. 2 is Early-Bird Registration, Showcase Application Deadline for 2012 International Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis
The 24th Annual International Folk Alliance Conference is slated for February 22-26, 2012 at the Downtown Marriott in Memphis, Tennessee. Financial savings are in the offing through early-bird registration that is open through Dec. 2, while forms also are available on the Folk Alliance International website (www.folk.org) until then for performing artists to apply for Performance Alley official showcase opportunities.

Red Horse - the debut album by the contemporary folk trio of Eliza Gilkyson, John Gorka and Lucy Kaplansky - continues in the top spot on the Roots Music Report Folk Radio Chart. New this week on the Folk Top 50 are albums by Storyhill, Trisha Gagnon, Peter Bradley Adams, Matt The Electrician, Neptune's Car, Kevin Burke & Cal Scott, Heidi Talbot, Johnsmith, WPA, Luka Bloom, Patrick Bloom, Steve Mednick, Truckstop Honeymoon, and some guy named Woody Guthrie.

Concord Music Group Acquires Rounder Records
Rounder Records, a leading American roots music label that is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary, has been acquired by the Concord Music Group. The Massachusetts-based independent label has released more than 3,000 albums in such genres as bluegrass, Americana, Cajun & Zydeco, folk, singer-songwriter and children’s music.

LA Acoustic Music Festival Set for June 6-7, 2009
During the summer, the Santa Monica Pier in Southern California is teaming with people who flock there to leisurely stroll and soak up the laid-back beach atmosphere, partake of an array of dining and entertainment choices, bask in the sun and cool ocean breezes, and enjoy often fabulous sunsets. On the weekend of June 6 and 7 there’s even more to lure acoustic music fans to the famous pier. That’s when the inaugural LA Acoustic Music Festival takes place.
