The free event, extending from noon to 6 p.m., will feature a musical tribute to Tom Paxton, the influential singer-songwriter who plans to retire from the road this fall after more than 50 years as a touring artist.

Main stage performers include Lew Abramson, Barry and Brooks, Lydia Adams Davis, James Durst, Robert and Susan Gelb, John Guth, Josh Joffen, Terry Kitchen, Larry Kolker, Mara Levine, Kirsten Maxwell, Dennis McDonough, Kerri Powers, Anne Price (with Rita Deutsch), Maggie Seligman, Steve Suffet, John Whoever, and Bob Wright (with Bill Doerge and Bob Conroy). Each artist will perform a song by Paxton, along with his/her own material and/or other choice covers.

AcousticMusicScene.com’s Michael Kornfeld, who also serves as president of the Folk Music Society of Huntington (another event co-sponsor) and on the boards of Folk Alliance International and the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance, joins Bill Hahn, co-host of the weekly folk music program “Traditions” (which is broadcast on WFDU-FM, 89.1 in Teaneck, NJ), and Joe Pszonek, host of Radio Nowhere” (which airs on WMSC-FM in Montclair, NJ and online) in emceeing the event.

Aside from the pre-selected artists performing their own songs and those of Tom Paxton on the main stage, there will be opportunities for people of all skill levels to participate in a jam and song circle led by Bob Wright — so folks are encouraged to bring their instruments.

The free event is open to the entire community. Attendees are advised bring their own food, drink, and lawn chairs. Alcohol and pets are not permitted.
