Folk DJ Radio Airplay Charts – August 2019
Southern Indiana-based singer-songwriter Tim Grimm had the top album (Heart Land Again) on folk radio for a second consecutive month during August 2019 and also topped the monthly top artists chart, while New York-City-based quartet Bobtown had the month's most-played song ("Daughters of the Dust"). So say charts compiled by Folk Alliance International from radio playlists submitted to FOLKDJ-L, an electronic discussion group for DJs and others interested in folk-based music on the radio.

Philadelphia Folk Festival Set for Aug. 15-18
Thousands of music lovers are expected to converge on Old Pool Farm in Upper Salford Township, near bucolic Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, Aug. 15-18, for the annual Philadelphia Folk Festival that will feature more than 100 artists and acts on eight stages. Now in its 58th year, the family-friendly event, produced and presented by the Philadelphia Folksong Society, is the longest continuously running outdoor music festival in North America.

Philadelphia Folk Festival Set For Aug. 13-16
Arlo Guthrie celebrates the 50th anniversary of the event that inspired the seminal song “Alice’s Restaurant Massacree,” while influential folksinger-songwriter Tom Paxton, who plans to retire from the road later this year after more than a half-century as a performing and recording artist, are among the dozens of artists and acts slated to perform during the 2015 Philadelphia Folk Festival. Scheduled for August 13 -16 at the Old Pool Farm in Upper Salford Township, near bucolic Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, the festival is produced and presented by the Philadelphia Folksong Society. Now in its 54th year, it is the longest continuously running musical festival of its kind in North America.

SERFA Conference, a Musical ‘Family Reunion,’ Set for May 13-17 in North Carolina
Several days of contemporary and traditional folk music, networking, and learning opportunities await the nearly 200 people expected to converge on the Montreat Conference Center in Montreat, North Carolina, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, near Asheville, May 13-17, 2015, for the eighth annual Southeast Regional Folk Alliance (SERFA) Conference. AcousticMusicScene.com Hosts Showcases at Huntington Folk Festival
The ninth annual Huntington Folk Festival is slated for Saturday, July 19, 2014, The free event, extending from 12 noon into late in the evening, at Huntington, New York's Heckscher Park, will feature an afternoon of unplugged showcases and song swaps, a hootenanny-style tribute to Pete Seeger, and an evening concert by Bobtown.
