Ten Selected as 2015 Telluride Troubadour Competition Finalists

The finals in the 2015 Telluride Troubadour Competition will take place during the 42nd Telluride Bluegrass Festival, June 18-21. The roots-oriented music festival takes place amid Colorado’s rugged San Juan Mountains and coincides with the Summer Solstice. Ten singer-songwriters will each perform two original songs as they vie for ash and other prizes, recognition, and the opportunity to perform on the festival’s main stage. Each finalist also receives an "in-the-round" workshop spot in Elks Park, a performance coaching session, and a short tweener main stage set over the festival weekend. Robby Hecht Wins 2010 Telluride Troubadour Competition

Nashville, Tennessee-based singer songwriter Robby Hecht emerged as the winner of the 2010 Telluride Troubadour Competition yesterday afternoon and will perform on the main stage during the 37th Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival tonight. His 15-minute set will be sandwiched in between performances by Yonder Mountain String Band and Bela Fleck, Zakir Hussain and Edgar Meyer. Getting to Know… Nels Andrews

Nels Andrews released his first album independently in 2005. But, in that short span of time, the well-traveled, Brooklyn, New York-based singer-songwriter has earned some impressive honors and accolades with his original Americana and folk-rock songs. He’s been a Grassy Hill/Kerrville New Folk Winner, an official showcase artist at this year’s International Folk Alliance Conference, and is among the 24 artists selected to perform in next month’s Emerging Artists Showcase at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival.
