Early Registration Deadline Nears for 2010 Folk Alliance Conference
Close to 2,000 performers, presenters, promoters and others engaged in the folk and acoustic music community are expected to converge on the Marriott in Memphis, Tennessee, February 17-21, 2010, for the 22nd International Folk Alliance Conference. To take advantage of the discounted early registration rate, individuals and groups must register by December 1.

Reed Waddle Wins New York Songwriters Circle Contest
Reed Waddle, a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based singer-songwriter and guitarist, is the grand prize winner in the fourth annual songwriting contest sponsored by The New York Songwriters Circle. A panel of 10 music industry judges selected him as the recipient of $25,000 in cash and prizes following live performances by 12 finalists, Nov. 18-19, at The Bitter End in New York City.

Finalists Named in The New York Songwriters Circle Contest
Finalists have been named in the fourth annual songwriting contest sponsored by The New York Songwriter’s Circle. A panel of judges will determine the grand prize winner of $25,000 in cash and prizes plus bragging rights during live performances by the 12 finalists, Nov. 18-19, at The Bitter End in New York City.

Initial Artist Lineup Announced for DelFest
The third annual DelFest at the Allegany County Fairgrounds in Cumberland, Maryland does not take place until next Memorial Day Weekend. But bluegrass patriarch and nine-time International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Entertainer of the Year Del McCoury joined IBMA Broadcaster of the Year Katy Daley yesterday on WAMU’s “Bluegrass Country” to announce the initial lineup for the event and take calls from fans.
